Hello Reader, I hate to talk about politics, but I feel compelled to share this with my "people". A federal bill is currently being considered by Congress that could effectively grant legal immunity to pesticide manufacturers – even when their products cause serious harm. Section 453 of the House Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill proposes to block the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from using its funding to approve or update pesticide warning labels if those changes contradict earlier agency assessments – even if new scientific evidence shows serious risks like cancer or reproductive harm. For example, if a new study finds that pesticide X causes brain tumors, but was previously deemed safe by the EPA, then the agency would be barred from requiring a new warning label. Manufacturers could then argue that federal law prevents them from changing the label - which they can use as legal grounds to dismiss injury lawsuits. This is deeply concerning. If passed, this bill would:
This is reminiscent of the legal protections already granted to vaccine manufacturers under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. This law created a separate injury compensation system and limits legal liability when harm occurs. While the context is different, both policies limit access to traditional legal recourse… I find this appalling! Section 453 is expected to go to the House floor for further debate and voting later this year, so it’s not too late to act! Speak up against it and protect your right to informed consent and justice. Recently, a similar state-level bill - the so-called, “Cancer Gag Act” – was introduced in many states and successfully defeated thanks to grassroots opposition. So, your voice does matter! Here are ways you can help: 1. Use this advocacy tool to send a letter directly to your state lawmakers: https://toxinfreeusa.org/take-action/stop-the-monsanto-protection-act/ 2. Call or email your congressional representatives
You can look up your rep here: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative This is a script you can use: “Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a constituent from [City/State]. I’m calling/writing to ask you to oppose Section 453 of the House Interior Appropriations Bill. This provision would block the EPA from updating pesticide warning labels and effectively shield chemical manufacturers from lawsuits - even when their products cause harm. Please protect public health, transparency, and the right to legal recourse. Thank you.” 3. Spread the word
Let’s not allow “Big-Ag” to win and do what we can to protect the health of our families as best we can. Sending you love & light, -Dora ---------- Recommendations

Hello Reader, One of the first things I noticed before my official diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis was hair loss. Even with thyroid labs that my doctor said were “normal”, I knew something was wrong when I was pulling out wads of hair while in the shower. So I went down a rabbit hole and eventually figured out what was wrong and what I could do about it. I’m happy to report that I’m no longer shedding an abnormal amount of hair. So I thought I’d share some of what I learned about natural...
Hello Reader, Eggplant season is in full swing where I live, and I am HERE for it! 🍆 Roasted eggplant, caponata, baingan bharta… I’ve been eating it all. (recipe below 👇🏼) But this embarrassment of eggplants got me thinking: is there a dark side to this humble purple vegetable? Because eggplants belong to the nightshade family - and nightshades have a bit of a reputation. So what’s the deal? Nightshades include some of the most common foods on the planet: tomatoes, peppers, white potatoes,...
Hello Reader, Apologies! I missed sending out the (seemingly) obligatory Thanksgiving and Black Friday message last week. Honestly, over the past two weeks, I’ve received so many emails from companies shouting about their “best prices of the year” that I just couldn’t bring myself to add my own to the pile and clutter up your inbox. Today, at the risk of getting lost in the aftermath of Cyber Monday, I still want to express my (belated but sincere) gratitude to you for being part of my...
