Tool for staying organized + a special seasoning

Hello Reader,

Fall is always a time of excitement and change for me. When the mornings become cooler and I find myself reaching for a sweater again, I know that summer is over.

This school year, we’ve decided to go back to homeschooling the kids. While I absolutely love being a part of my kids’ daily learning, I worry about how I’m going to cope with being a home-teacher + moving homes + juggling several work commitments + continuing to build my private practice… not to mention the usual tasks of keeping my family fed and the house clean.

I’m going to allow myself a bit of grace this week as I unpack our boxes and get settled into our new house.

Going forward, however, I will be using this key tool for organizing myself and getting things done:

--> A weekly agenda book.

I don’t know what it is, but for me, putting pencil to paper commits me to action. And it has to be a pencil, not a pen. There’s just something satisfying about the scratchy feeling of graphite on paper.

Every week, I’ll be writing out my goals and carving out specific hours to complete priority tasks. My organizer will also contain my meal plan for the week.

Do you have a secret weapon for staying organized and productive? If so, I’d love to hear about it! (Just hit reply)

If not, maybe give this a try 🙂

Sending you love & light,

Dora

  • Superfood Seasoning Salt: Can’t stomach eating liver or organ meats? Here’s a tasty way to eat these nutrient superfoods - Pluck Seasonings. These seasoning salts come in a variety of flavors and you won’t even notice that there is liver in it. It’s “nutrition in a pinch”. The Original Flavor is my favorite. https://eatpluck.com/
  • Eggplant Recipe: It’s eggplant season, so I wanted to share a recipe for my favorite eggplant dish - Baingan Bharta. It’s a delicious Indian dish made of roasted and mashed eggplant, tomatoes, onions, garlic and anti-inflammatory spices. I use the air fryer version of this: https://www.indianhealthyrecipes.com/baingan-bharta/

Hello Reader, One of the first things I noticed before my official diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis was hair loss. Even with thyroid labs that my doctor said were “normal”, I knew something was wrong when I was pulling out wads of hair while in the shower. So I went down a rabbit hole and eventually figured out what was wrong and what I could do about it. I’m happy to report that I’m no longer shedding an abnormal amount of hair. So I thought I’d share some of what I learned about natural...

A bowl of nightshade vegetables

Hello Reader, Eggplant season is in full swing where I live, and I am HERE for it! 🍆 Roasted eggplant, caponata, baingan bharta… I’ve been eating it all. (recipe below 👇🏼) But this embarrassment of eggplants got me thinking: is there a dark side to this humble purple vegetable? Because eggplants belong to the nightshade family - and nightshades have a bit of a reputation. So what’s the deal? Nightshades include some of the most common foods on the planet: tomatoes, peppers, white potatoes,...

Hello Reader, Apologies! I missed sending out the (seemingly) obligatory Thanksgiving and Black Friday message last week. Honestly, over the past two weeks, I’ve received so many emails from companies shouting about their “best prices of the year” that I just couldn’t bring myself to add my own to the pile and clutter up your inbox. Today, at the risk of getting lost in the aftermath of Cyber Monday, I still want to express my (belated but sincere) gratitude to you for being part of my...
